Thousands of newly purchased rare & collectible 45s, Music Magazines, Photos & Sheet Music titles will be available for you to look at tonight (TUES, 10/23) at The Great Escape Charlotte Avenue's special events room from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The 45s include many early Rockabilly & Country titles, Sun & Flip pressings, great condition promotional records & more from the personal collection of 50's-60's disc Jockey Leon Murphree; the music magazines are mainly country oriented, but also include other types of titles (including Rolling Stone) as well.

We also welcome our friends The Record Wranglers, who will be spinning 45s from the collection tonight.

Special showing for 45 Collectors & Music Magazine Buffs at Great Escape Charlotte Avenue

Attention, 45 & Magazine collectors:

The Charlotte Avenue Great Escape recently purchased the personal collection of 50's-60's disc jockey Leon Murphree. Several thousand 45s from this collection will be offered for sale in our Special Events Room on Tuesday, October 23 from 6 p.m. until our 9 p.m. closing.

There are some amazing records in this group, including original Flip & Sun pressings, super-clean promotional copies of early country & rockabilly titles, and much more! (We will have a listening station available, but feel free to bring your own portable turntable if you wish.) 


We have also acquired the Steve Eng Collection of music magazines, photos & sheet music. While the collection is primarily country-related, other magazines (such as Rolling Stone) are represented as well. Hundreds of pieces from this collection will be offered for sale at Tuesday night's event.

This is a great opportunity to shop from these collections before they are distributed to our various retail venues. We hope to see you Tuesday at 6 p.m. at our Charlotte Avenue store.

This Sunday, 10/21, our Music Blowout Sale will include CDs, LPs and premium 45s for only $1 each (from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.)

After closing the store at 7 p.m. (as usual), we'll reopen at 8 p.m. with 1,000s & 1,000s of LPs, 45s & CDs from a variety of musical genres and sources (transfers from other stores, new markdowns and new purchases from our warehouse that have never made it into stock). The regular price for these items (if offered in our store inventory) would be between $2.99-$9.99 each.
