SAT, 10/28: Meet and Greet with Michael Carter, local comic book creator @ TGE Bowling Green
Hey, everyone-
The Great Escape Bowling Green will have an in-store appearance by Michael Carter, the creator and writer of DDMC Man. He will be in the store on Saturday, October 28th, from noon until 3 p.m. selling issues of DDMC Man #1 and signing autographs.
In 2011, Mr. Carter was diagnosed with Ataxia, a mobility disorder. Instead of letting Ataxia get him down and hinder his lifestyle, Mr. Carter decided to do the opposite, and so he founded Disability Don’t Mean Can’t, a motivational organization that shows people with disabilities that they can overcome any obstacle.
Mr. Carter, now a fitness and motivational instructor, wants to show people that with the right positive attitude anything can be achieved, no matter how difficult or how many times it must be attempted.
As a way to help motivate and inspire people, Mr. Carter created the comic book DDMC Man, in which the hero has Ataxia, much like Mr. Carter. He created the comic to show that not all heroes have to have superpowers, but that a strong will and desire can defeat any stumbling block. Issue #1 was launched in August of 2017, and issue #2 will be available next January.
So, please join us for this special event on Saturday, October 28th, from noon until 3 p.m. as we welcome Michael Carter to the Great Escape Bowling Green. For more information on Mr. Carter, click on the links below-
