The Great Escape Louisville is super excited to be hosting a massive $1 Comic Book Blowout Sale! Because some of you folks who can't make it out for Saturday sales have been asking if we could do a Sunday event, it will be this Sunday only, on 12/8, in our special events room. The room will be packed to the walls with thousands & thousands of premium back issue comic book titles (regularly priced between $2.99-$9.99) at only $1 each!*

The sale lasts for the entire time that we'll be open Sunday, so you'll have a full 7 hours to go through dozens of boxes of $1 comics from various genres- many of which are in like-new, unread condition (having been pulled from our comic stands or backup comic stock)! Many are also already bagged and boarded, making them even bigger bargains- and many have never been offered for sale before at any Great Escape location.

NASHVILLE, TN: Chigger Hill Boys & Terri CD release party! SAT 11/2

Hey, Music fans-

This Saturday, November 2nd, The Great Escape Nashville is proud to welcome our own Chigger Hill Boys & Terri for a CD release party and live show for their newest title on Great Escape Records, "Songs Like Those For Days Like These".

The band will perform songs from their new album, plus previous hits at 7:30 p.m., followed by a meet-and-greet session with fans, who can get merchandise autographed at this time, including the new CD, which is available at the Nashville, Madison and Murfreesboro locations of The Great Escape (and will soon also be available at our Bowling Green and Louisville stores; call for more info on this). ADMISSION IS FREE!

This group of award winning Bluegrass/Gospel hit makers have a long and distinguished career and association with The Great Escape: group founder Mike Richards has worked for the company off-and on since the early 80s, and lead vocalist Terri Argot Gore also spent considerable time in our employ, during the 2000s. After 20 years of success both as a band and individually (during which they were nominated for multiple awards, and won in the songwriting and lead vocalist categories, respectively), The Chigger Hill Boys and Terri decided to make Great Escape Records their new home after some 15 years with Thoroughbred Records. (The band has produced a significant number of successful records, including four #1 hits.)

For the new release, the group added multiple guest stars to their regular lineup: Bluegrass great Darrin Vincent joins Gore for a duet on one track, while Southern Gospel standout Ben Rochester assists the vocalist on another. Fiddle virtuoso Andy Leftwich sat in for the entire album, which is at a level of quality that nobody involved in the project could have possible anticipated at the time that the project began.

The album contains the #1 hit single "Songs Like Those (For Days Like These)", which, after being released on September 30, 2018 immediately began charting highly in Singing News and Bluegrass Today magazines. Meanwhile, Sirius XM radio programmed the recording in regular rotation on its Enlighten channel {Southern Gospel} as well as the #1 show in its field, Bluegrass Junction. The song is continuing to enjoy success more than a year after its initial release.
