FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: SAT, 5/5 at all Great Escape locations

Attention, comic book fans-

Get ready for the best Free Comic Book Day celebration that The Great Escape has ever hosted- this SAT, 5/5 (at all locations).

This year we'll be offering six free comic books per customer* (five of your choice from a diverse section of comics published especially for this occasion- plus, everyone gets a bonus sixth title: DC's "The New 52" #1).

Free comic books offered this year include titles featuring:

The Avengers/Ultron * Sonic The Hedgehog * Star Wars * Superman Family * Buffy The Vampire Slayer * Judge Dread * Walt Disney's Donald Duck * Spiderman * Transformers * Peanuts- and many more!

This year's wide range of activities offered at various locations of The Great Escape are as follows:

THE GREAT ESCAPE CHARLOTTE AVENUE SUPERSTORE
-Free drawing lesson workshops with "Nancy" cartoonist Guy Gilchrist (who has also done numerous other projects, including "Jim Henson's Muppets", his newest strip, "Today's Dogg" and many others) from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Gilchrist will also critique portfolios, do signings & sketches and answer questions from fans.
-Comic book writer appearance by Jason Miller (also from 11-4), who will be doing signings and giving away copies of his Arcana comic book, "Intrinsic". (Which means that you may get up to 7 free comic books this year, including this one!)
-Huge 25¢ Comic Book Blowout Sale, featuring thousands & thousands of comic books priced at only a quarter each.

THE GREAT ESCAPE MADISON
-Open 1 hour early- at 9 a.m.!
-Drawings for prizes, including gift certificates and (grand prize) a set of DC's "The New 52" first print #1 issues.
-Cosplayers via the GMX Convention (a type of performance art in which participants don costumes to represent a specific character or idea).
-A special selection of $1 back issue sale comics on the sidewalk. (Never offered for sale before; originally valued at up to $10 each.)
