Twelve-year-old comic creator Luke Robinson of Dickson, Tennessee will be appearing at The Great Escape Madison on Saturday, 2/26 from 2-3 p.m. to sign and give away free copies of the comic book that he conceived while undergoing 3 years of chemotherapy for treatment of leukemia.
Shortly after his third birthday, Luke was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent three years of chemotherapy at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been in remission from leukemia for nearly nine years and is expected to continue a long and healthy life.
While in treatment, Luke became interested in superheroes, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted his fondest wish of presenting his ideas for characters and plotlines to Marvel Comics, who helped him develop them into the actual comic book that is now available. (Luke wanted to share these comics with the other children so that they would see that the doctors were there, like superheroes, to help them and that they did not have to be afraid of them.)
There will be a limit of 1 free, signed Luke Robinson comic book per customer.
