Attention, 45 & Magazine
collectors:
The Charlotte
Avenue Great Escape recently purchased the personal collection of
50's-60's disc jockey Leon Murphree. Several thousand 45s from
this collection will be offered for sale in our Special Events Room on
Tuesday, October 23 from 6 p.m. until our 9 p.m.
closing.
There are
some amazing records in this group, including original
Flip & Sun pressings, super-clean promotional
copies of early country & rockabilly titles, and
much more! (We will have a listening station available, but feel free to bring
your own portable turntable if you wish.)
We have also acquired the Steve Eng Collection of
music magazines, photos & sheet
music. While the collection is primarily country-related, other
magazines (such as Rolling Stone) are represented as well. Hundreds of
pieces from this collection will be offered for sale at Tuesday night's
event.
This is a great
opportunity to shop from these collections before they are distributed to our
various retail venues. We hope to see you Tuesday at 6
p.m. at our Charlotte Avenue store.
