THIS FRIDAY, 5/31: FREE Bill Lloyd acoustic show at Great Escape Nashville at 6 p.m.

The Great Escape's West Nashville location is proud and excited to announce a free acoustic show by local legend Bill Lloyd at 6 p.m. this FRI, 5/31! Bill will also be joined by fellow Spyderpop label mates Danny Wilkerson & Lannie Flowers.

For those of you who are unaware of his many talents, Bill Lloyd is a Nashville based songwriter, musician, recording artist and producer who is most often remembered as half of the late ‘80’s RCA country-rock duo, Foster and Lloyd. Lloyd’s diverse musical activities include working as a producer (ranging from Carl Perkins to MTV reality show indie-rockers, The Secret), a session player (from Brit-pop icons like Ray Davies of The Kinks and Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze to country legends like Buck Owens and Steve Earle), a sideman (Poco, Marshall Crenshaw and with Cheap Trick when they perform The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper with orchestra) and as a songwriter (with songs cut by Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Keith Anderson, Hootie and the Blowfish and many more). He has recorded a string of critically acclaimed solo records that blend his melodic power pop sensibility with finely tuned song craft. During his three-year stint as the Stringed Instrument Curator at The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, he created the quarterly series Nashville Cats, that he continues to host. He’s the music director for the First Amendment Center in Nashville. He also organized and plays in Nashville’s high concept cover band, The Long Players recently profiled on NPR’s All Things Considered.

Bill's own special blend of power pop has captivated audiences since his first solo release, "Feeling The Elephant." His newest release, "Playing The Long Game", may just be his best ever- and The Great Escape will have plenty of LPs and CDs of this available during his show Friday! (A special personal sidebar: Bill even worked for a short time as an employee at The Great Escape before leaving to pursue music full-time!)

Danny Wilkerson was heavily influenced by The Beatles, and his current Spyderpop album "Wilkerson", mastered at Abbey Road Studios, is receiving rave reviews. Wilkerson will be opening for Lloyd, along with another label mate, Lannie Flowers- who combines diverse influences such as British invasion, punk rock and glam rock, and will soon have a new release on Spyderpop titled "Home".

That's Bill Lloyd, Danny Wilkerson & Lannie Flowers Friday night, 5/31 at The Great Escape Nashville at 6 p.m.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone Friday night for this exciting free event!
